Chapter 3.4: Home Surreal – Cash Legacy
(After this chapter, Cash Legacy goes on a break 😊)
Zitara’s Point of View
Alexus: Oh, my child! I’m so glad that you’re home safely.
Zitara: But mom, this isn’t our home. Remind me again why we have to stay here? It’s so lonely and cold.
Alexus: These are dangerous times, dear.
This is the planet of Rabonia and this awful tower is where my family calls home when the planet and its leaders, like us, are under attack.
Zitara: So mom, can I go back to Earth tomorrow? Please, please, please, please, mom!
Alexus: No. Not for a very long time. I have asked your brother to come here as well.
Intercom: (foreign) Intruder! Intruder!
Hope: I found this boy hiding in the landing bay.
Francis: Zitara, help!
Zitara: Hey! How did you get here?
Grusha: (foreign) Step away from the princess!
Alexus: This Earth boy has discovered our safe-tower. He knows more than any earthling should. We cannot allow him to leave.
Back on Earth … Eliza’s POV
Months ago, I would have been so excited for the senior dance but now this … everyone is going to stare at me, and not because my dress is pretty.
To make things worse, Francis is missing. How can I enjoy the dance when my only brother is nowhere to be found? I’d rather not go. I hope Lyle will understand.
Kristine: Eliza, are you ready to go?
Eliza: I can’t. I just can’t.
Kristine: I understand. Anyway, there’s something I need to tell you.
Eliza: Is it about Francis? Is he okay? Has he been found yet?
Kristine: He … he hasn’t. All we know so far is that he was supposed to go to Zitara’s house for a school project but she and her whole family have disappeared. It’s like they just dropped off the face of the earth. And they aren’t the only ones …
Eliza: Who else is missing? Please not Gemma too!
Kristine: No, Eliza, please calm down. It’s about Lyle.
His parents have sent him to live in another city with his uncle. They are refusing to tell us which city.
Eliza: No, no, no, no! They can’t do that! That’s not fair! You need to find him!
Kristine: Eliza …
Eliza: No! I won’t accept it!
Francis’ POV
I don’t know how long I can stay here playing royal tea party with Zitara and her family. I really need to get back home.
I’m under constant surveillance while they run some weird tests on my brain. The queen seems to be very interested in me.
Hope: My queen, this Earth boy has amazing mental abilities. At this age, the Earth children are normally only as intelligent as our toddlers but this boy could compete with Zitara.
Alexus: Excellent. Prepare for departure. I will tell him our terms myself.
Alexus: Francis, you are free to return home but only if you agree to these conditions.
The only reason I haven’t sent you to the camp with the other Earth people is because your intelligence is far beyond the other Earth children we have come across and I want to put that to use.
Alexus: My daughter loves being on Earth but there are those who wish to harm our family. You are free to go if you become her guardian. You will allow Grusha to plant a tracking chip into your wrist. Applying pressure to the chip sends a distress signal.
Francis: As painful as that chip sounds, I’ll do it. I just want to go home. I miss my mom.
Alexus: Zitara, it’s time to go. Change into your earth garments. The guard ships will ensure that you arrive safely. Francis, you will tell your parents that we left town for a rare science expo.
And that was how I left that strange place in the end. I would like to say that I hope I never have to come back but with a tracker in my wrist, it looks like I’ll be visiting Rabonia a lot more in the future.
